SGBN Leadership Transitions

Six years ago, 16 local businesses, including Central Co-op, Alchemy Goods, Fremont Brewing, and BECU, came together to help create Seattle Good Business Network. They believed that by connecting and empowering a network of locally owned businesses in the stewardship of our place, together we could make a real difference in our communities.

Seattle Made Food + Beverage Connection

Seattle Made Food + Beverage Connection

At the end of June 45 producers showcased their goods at the inaugural Seattle Made Food + Beverage Connection. We invited hundreds of local grocery store buyers, chefs, distributors, institutions, hotels, non-profits organizations and other involved in the local food economy to join us for an amazing day of sampling and building connections. We've already heard about some exciting new relationships forged!

Our new website - live!

Years in the making (ok, maybe just weeks in the making but years of thinking about it!), we have launched a new website for Seattle Good Business Network. You're looking at it now ;).

We run a variety of programs, initiatives, and special projects, several of which have their own brands and websites. Our hope is that this organizational site does a better job of providing an overview of those efforts, and sharing how they are connected to our work to localize our economy. Check out The Case for Local, see our exciting Special Projects, and keep an eye on the News section for project updates, announcements, and shout-outs.

Umpqua Bank helps diners Dine Around Seattle - again!

We just wrapped up our 8th (!) Dine Around Seattle since we took it over in November 2012. Once again we had a killer line up of nearly 50 fantastic local restaurants, including newcomers like James Beard's Best New Restaurant in the Nation award-winner Girin, Ethan Stowell's Anchovies & Olives and Rione XIII, and Seven Beef.

Even cooler was a super-fun promotion supported by sponsor Umpqua Bank: 38 lucky diners got a special visit from the Umpqua Bank Prize Patrol, and treated to a $66 gift certificate to another meal out at a participating Dine Around Seattle Restaurant! You can see a couple of the happy diners at the nice piece by Seattle Refined. Thank you Umpqua for being creative with us!!

Welcoming FORKS as a fiscally sponsored project

We are proud and honored that as of March 2016, Seattle Good Business Network is the fiscal sponsor for Fields Oceans Ranches Kitchens Stewards (FORKS), a 10-year old volunteer-run organization committed to educating and connecting chefs and local food producers. Our missions are perfectly aligned and we have long admired their work. We look forward to supporting and partnering with their dedicated board and members whenever possible. To learn more about FORKS and their upcoming Meet and Greet events, head over to FORKS website.
